Weston Aerobic Gymnastics returned from the first competition of the year at Fareham in Hampshire with a plethora of medals.
Weston Aerobic Gymnastics headed to Fareham in Hampshire for the first competition of the year and first
event of the new Olympic cycle, meaning a new set of rules and skills to be competed.
Weston gymnasts and coaches have worked hard all winter to make sure they were perfectly prepared for this year’s competition season.
The gymnasts started the march for medals in fine style with their youngest competitor and the only one at regional level for this competition Lily Jean Smith, who at seven-years-old is only allowed to enter regional competitions.
Lily Jean not only won her category by nearly two marks, she also got the highest regional score of the day.
The day followed for Weston with the national level gymnasts competing, and these gymnasts showed their level by winning nearly every category entered and getting the highest score of the section, with Maddy Reynolds scoring a huge score of 17.400, winning the senior womens individual.
Hot on her heels were her two teammates, Izzy Worrall with silver and Courtney Hewett with bronze.
